Michael Cook (AIA, NCARB, LEED AP BD+C) brings over 20 years of design leadership experience to MC|AD. He has worked at some of the world's top architecture studios—including Renzo Piano Building Workshop in Paris, Foster + Partners in London / St. Petersburg, and Behnisch Architekten in Boston—and is the recipient of multiple awards for his independent entries in international design competitions. Michael is a graduate of Princeton University (BSE) and the Yale University School of Architecture (M. Arch.).

Architecture has a unique and powerful potential to synthesize different ideas and elements of the world around us. Through thoughtful consideration of history, context, and client requirements, designers can create socially and environmentally sustainable projects that complement the existing ecology while challenging existing preconceptions.

As new technologies continue to open up previously unimaginable formal possibilities, we must remember that physical complexity will not necessarily result in enhanced experience. This does not mean that we should revert to familiar representations, but rather strive for an architecture of elegance, simplicity, and subtlety, one which engages the viewer on multiple levels over time.
